Features planned for Warlock DPS Calc 1.06

I’ve just realized yesterday that 2 months had gone by since the last update to the DPS Calculator.  I wanted to improve the Timeline first, but this will take a deep revision of the drag&drop mechanism, which I do not wish to undertake right now.

I have received a suggestion to display some graphs. Indeed, it’s true that more information could easily be displayed about the selected spells and the resulting DPS.

I’ve received one mail about bugs, but after discussing with the person it appeared that it was just misuse of the calculator, or bad comprehension of the results. Also, I’ve read on some forums that this “Calculator was bugged, as all the other ones”. I have invested many hours in testing - probably more than what I used for coding - to make sure that the results were accurate. So I guess that I will have to show the output of the calculator, so people understand what’s going on.

Here’s a summary of what will be included in 1.06 :

  • DPS over time graphics, x-axis based on 60 seconds to let the dots expire.
  • Text output of the spells damage, including base damage and modifiers
  • More statistics, such as Max DPS achieved during sequence

Let’s say that a reasonable target date for this would be december 15th.

    Heyho,
i really like your awesome work. Keep on going. The features which are implemented atm are very nice. I’m excited in what will come in the future.
Some things i like to be implemented:
    - optional drag’n'dropping or just clicking to add a spell to the timeline
    - passive display in the background, to see wehen dots have expired
    - an option, to remove spells from the timeline

would be nice if you could have a look at this.
    bye

Did you stop WOW and your calculator ?

In fact, there’s a big error in your calculator : you don’t count the Global Cooldown. In exemple, why do you make “UA” + Corruption = 1,5s + 1,5s ? Or every instant dot = 1,5s ? It should take 1s due to the GC.

  4. Helldora Says:

Bah my mistake, the GC is 1,5s… delete those post

    Hey :)

I didn’t stop yet, however I was on vacation, far away from a computer, and quite busy @ work after my return.

Unless something has changed recently (which may well be possible:)), the GCD is set at 1.5s, and not at 1s. See here : http://www.wowwiki.com/Global_cooldown#Global_cooldown

  6. Helldora Says:

But when you make the exemple with CS + C + UA vs C + UA + CS …. it’s way better to make UA + C + CS

  7. elvo Says:

    Ah nice, a reply :)

So you’re still working on it. Thats fine xD

  8. admin Says:

Helldora => Indeed, it’s much better to do UA + C + CS. I was so focused on my demonstration about when to cast CS that I didn’t think about the order of UA and C :) gg :)

If you could add the spell “Curse of Doom” with / without the amplified curse talent. I’m kinda a fan of this spell et usualy prefer it when i’m not in a group of 25 people.
